Progress update 14th April 2015
Since early 2014 Goodchild Marine, Northumberland IFCA and Seafish have been working closely on a new ‘Fisheries Patrol / Survey Vessel’ capable of meeting all of the demands of the NIFCA and the North Sea. This has been achieved by the excellent work and professionalism of Goodchild Marine, cultivating in the launch of the first SB Lynx 1600, (16m) GRP Catamaran on Tuesday 7th April 2015.
Goodchild Marine and NIFCA are currently carrying out full trials and are hopeful to having St Aidan up in the Tyne by the end of April 2015.

CEO Hardy’s, said “he was very impressed with Goodchild Marine, their set up, boatyard and staff, and he and the Authority members are looking forward to seeing and being involved in the build of the New 15m Catamaran, Patrol Vessel.
Next visit is planned for late July, however officers are going down to the Sea Work 2014 International Boat Show, Southampton, where they will have a chance to speak to both Goodchild Marine and also RIB Craft (who are supplying a 5.4m RIB for the new Vessel.
