Impact of Severe Weather on Fishing Communities

The Northumberland IFCA along with Northumberland County Council take very seriously the effects of the wide spread damage caused by east coast tidal surges in 2013.

You will be pleased to hear that Government has listen to the local councils regarding the impact of the severe weather on fishing communities.

On the 6th March 2014 the Environment Secretary announced an offer to replace gear such as lobster and crab pots.
